Experiential Report: Transit Pluto Conjunct Natal Neptune

Prelude: To all astrologers who claim that the above mentioned transit is “insignificant” and that its impacts are rather “subtle” and “impalpable”… I’d like to give A Big Fat Double Cheesy Mac Middlefinger.

I’ve experienced the last progression of this transit during the past summer (I’m not fully but almost done with the last of 3 degrees orbis) and it’s been nothing less than a ride on an emotional rollercoaster, without seatbelts. What officially happened back then is documented in the article “Knockdown”.
Long story short, my sister rebuilt a part of the house she inherited and I was financially and emotionally very involved. (She had her first return of Saturn at that point in time, in the 8th house – that connection is obvious, I think).

But that was only one of three progressions, and each of them hit me.

HIT ME.

Not like a slap in the face. Rather like noticing that I’d been free falling… in the very moment when I hit rock bottom. But hey, that’s what Neptune is known for. It veils the most obvious things.

Note: NEVER EVER make life decisions when your natal Neptune is affected by a transit. You’ll feel great while doing it – but you’ll regret it as soon as the veil falls.

Neptune is in my 5th house, by the way. It is the house of pleasure and life force, of childhood and children, close friends and love affairs. Basically all of these topics have been affected by the transit.

My daughter started with kindergarten. I lost my best male friend by pairing him off with a psychopath (FELT great – WAS wrong, as mentioned before). My best female friend is still with me (Thank God!!) but she also found someone, and she’s really busy trying to have babies now.

I will withstand the temptation to go into deeper detail about my own romantic life.
Just let me put down one painful truth I learned during the transit – which now doesn’t feel painful any longer, because Neptune, after all, is a healer too.

***

Romance is like a beautiful day in autumn.
You are foolish if you demand it to persist, because indeed, it is a gift.
It is neither granted to you nor to anyone at all.

The only safe place in the world is in your heart, in your soul,
and when everything falls apart, you will notice that.

Love is not about reaching a “safe haven”.
Not about sharing a bed with someone. Not even about sharing a life with someone.
It’s not about harmony. Damn well, it’s not about harmony.

I’ve seen my parents secretly admitting that they still love one another after 20 years of divorce.
Beyond all the fights an injuries, beyond the separation and the obvious failure… this overwhelming force is making it all look so miniscule.

There is no escape.
There will always be this one love so much greater than you.

It will mock at the life plans you make with your tiny little intellect.
Mock at your attempts of sugarcoating something that for sure isn’t love.
Mock at YOU if you put anything above it.

So forget about safety, forget about promises, forget about calculation.
Love finds you, inevitably.

Having understood this, and fully indulging in that understanding, I need to ass-kick myself to do more coding again right now. 🙂

    I’m feeling a strange feeling reading you, clever girl. I was searching something to a new poject with swiss ephemeris y c#, jjajaja, and i’ve seen your place.

    I don’ know, i want to do many things, but i’m a poor cancer mind, i wish have more mercurial inteligence, sometimes while i’m programng feel myself overwhelmed, i see all this mathematical operations and my mind get blocked

    But is nice reading you, i’m happy about this.

    Are you sleeping,jaja, here in Spain is 12:30 am

  • toni

    Wrong!! 12:30 pm, jaja

  • toni

    Wrong again! you are from Austria not from Australia, jajaja, i don’t know how it is possible doing so many mistakes in such a little time. Imagine my programing work it’s not logical programing is esoteric programing, if it works it’s a mistery

    Hey Toni,
    Thank you for the flowers. 🙂
    What is your approach with astrology?
    Are you an astrologist?
    Helga

  • toni

    Hello Helga, flowers are beautiful so you are, jaja

    i’m not an astrologist, i’m more an skeptical, but a like astrology is beautiful and you can dream about it.

    I like to prove it affect us statistically, i thought may be i can do some test in basketball statistics, because you have a lot of indicators rebounds, points, field goal percentage.

    Do you know the work from Gauquelin? he was a statesman who try to prove influence from astrology in people but in the end he failed and commit suicide. It’s a interesting story may be he didn’t commit suicide and was murdered becuse he found something…

  • ascendingmercury

    Dear Toni,

    Didn’t know Gauquelin, thanks for the input!

    I also see a lot of beauty in the starlit sky and I’ve been searching for studies which statistically prove astrological formulas as well. However I couldn’t even find one little study with a proper setup that ever investigated on *actual* astrological knowledge.

    However, I like to do my own research and I like to bring a little more light into the world of astrology by blogging about the transits I experience. I’m really glad that people appreciate that!

    I’m really glad, you are searching the same things, i have known a lot of people who likes astrology, but almost anybody knows “nothing” of the matter and either believe blindly or don’t believe at all.

    i hope we can share our knowledge and findings, i was very into it a few years ago, but i had an awful year and i left it all aside.

    I knew a person who is searching answers like we do, he does astrology based in statistics his place is http://www.galaxio.com/ he doesn’t believe in traditional astrology, but in cosmoenergetic astrology.

    I’m a bit confuse about traditional astrology because one day i downloaded a program named “stellarium” you can see de sky and the position of the planets, stars, and you can draw constellations, so i put my birthday date and saw the sun wasn’t in cancer but in geminis, i don’t remember, but i think it was due to a precession movement. ¿Did you run into it too? ¿What do you think about?

    Regards

  • ascendingmercury

    Hey Toni,

    You have to distinguish between the zodiac and the constellation figures. The figures are subject to precession whereas the zodiac is well-defined. Kind of a tricky thing, but Google knows a lot about this 😉

    Right now, I’m pretty enthusiastic about classical astrology. Yet I would not go as far as to say that I “believe” in it. There is still so much left to learn – either the formulas work or they don’t. If not, I’ll have to move on.

    So the stars and planets are in the same place but it’s only de vision angle that changes? i have read what google say but i need a person who explain to me, jajaja.

    i could say that i beleive, because i have seen things in my life that they seem to be connected, but you never know. There are a lot of things that happend in the world that make you don’t know what to think, when a lot of people die at the same time per example i don’t think in their natal charts say all are going to die or have the transits in the way to happen. If there is a combination of forces, the country were you live, the people who you live with, then may be it’s not possible to get something.

    If you move don’t move far away, now i have found you

  • ascendingmercury

    The fixed stars which form the constellation figures seem as if they are moving because the earth is kinda wobbly. However, in astrology you don’t use the positions of the constellation figures to work with, but you use the zodiac. The start point of the zodiac is vernal equinox (when day and night are exactly the same length at the beginning of spring) and each zodiac sign gets 30 degrees of the circle from that point. Clear?

  • toni

    Clear like darkness, jajaja, it’s fine it was i thought, thank you very much.

    i have had some trouble working the ephemeris, i don’t know if i don’t have the latest dll, but when i set the path,
    swe_set_ephe_path(new StringBuilder(@”c:\temp));
    the application searches the files in c:\temp\C\

    then when i use swe_get_planet_name i got some chinese string, jaja, i donwloaded several font libraries but it remains the same.

    It’s not big deal, i can manage other way, but disturbs me, jaja.

    What about the kind of program you are going to do?

  • ascendingmercury

    StringBuilder(@”c:\temp));

    There is a ” missing. Sure you terminated the string correctly?

    • toni

      Yes, it was an example, i missed a ” typing here, jaja, but in my code i compiled and i used Processmon.exe and i saw what i tell you.

      It doesn’t matter, anyway it returned a value but it was using Moshier ephemeris, so i created a C directory after my directory and i was getting the SWISSEPH ephemeris, did you check the flag returned by swe_calc? i got 4 instead 2 until i added C to my path.

  • ascendingmercury

    Hi Toni,
    Sorry for my very late response. Haven’t tried out swe_get_planet_name yet but I’d try to write the result of new StringBuilder(@”c:\temp”) into a separate variable and step into it with the debugger. The thing with the appended ‘C’ doesn’t happen over here.
    Helga

  • toni

    Hello Helga, don’t worry the life is so long, we have a lot of time ahead 🙂

    I think i didn’t express myself properly, i said the result from swe_calc not from StringBuilder, i got a four instead of two.

    swe_calc() return

    #define SEFLG_JPLEPH 1L // Use Jpl Ephemeris
    #define SEFLG_SWIEPH 2 // Use SWISSEPH ephemeris
    #define SEFLG_MOSEPH 4 // Use Moshier Ephemeris

    extract from swephprg.pdf

    You didn’t mention what was the kind of application are you going to do with this software.

  • ascendingmercury

    Hey Toni,
    you did express yourself properly, but I just found it weird that a ‘C’ is appended… might be part of the problem.

    I didn’t code for a specific application so far, just for exploration.
